22nd July 2021
It is that time of year again when the evenings grow longer and there is a crisp winter chill in the air. So, what better time to embrace the winter weather and have the perfect weekend getaway?
If you are looking for a city break in SA then Adelaide is an ideal choice. Pack your bags with plenty of winter warmers, wrap up and get ready to explore. There is no better time to visit this vibrant city, as for the first time ever, you can visit a true winter wonderland in Adelaide’s city centre.
The Winter Village in Adelaide
The Winter Village has come to Adelaide for the first time! An outdoor pop-up event situated in the heart of the city at Torrens Parade Ground. The event runs until the 5th of September, so you still have plenty of time to discover this alpine-inspired winter wonderland in Adelaide. The Village is open 7 days a week and is free entry. There is plenty to explore within the village with attractions for all ages to enjoy.
Get your skates on
Start your day on the village ice rink, whether you glide over the ice like a pro or are more like Bambi on ice, a skate session is great fun for all the family. Don’t forgot to wrap up warm, you can pre book your tickets online and there is no need to worry about skates as these are included in your ticket price, each session gives you 45 minutes of skating fun.
Indulge at the pop-up kitchen & bar
After all that excitement on the rink, wander down to the village ‘Sip Bar’ and warm up with a hot chocolate…or a hot toddy if you fancy something a bit stronger. The pop-up kitchen also has lots of delicious treats on offer, from giant pretzels to juicy cheeseburgers or for the sweet tooth fully loaded waffles topped with all sorts of goodies.
Watch it snow in Adelaide
A definite must whilst you explore winter wonderland in Adelaide is experiencing a magical snow shower. Great fun for the little ones, and the older ones as well! The snow showers run daily at set times of 12pm, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm. Immerse yourself in the falling snow and take advantage of the perfect photo moment.
