Celebrating its 10 year anniversary, OzAsia Festival returns to Adelaide on 17 September – 2 October.
According to OzAsia Festival Director Joseph Mitchell, 2016 is set to be the festival’s biggest and best year yet with the finest line up of contemporary Asian artists showcasing an impressive display of theatre, dance, music, film and visual arts.
OzAsia Festival is held at the Adelaide Festival Centre, situated on the banks of the River Torrens in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD. The festival will also see Elder Park transform into a major event space, as well as key performances held at theatres across the city.
One of the most anticipated events of the festival is the Moon Lantern Festival, Australia’s largest lantern parade, with the giant Hong Kong Dragon making an appearance again this year. The lantern parade will line the banks of the River Torrens on Sunday 18 September.
Elder Park will glow pink, yellow and red for the flagship OzAsia Festival event where the public can enjoy a program of music and arts performances, workshop activities and tantalise their tastebuds with local cuisine. The evening will be complete with a spectacular fireworks display.
The newest addition to this year’s festival is the Good Fortune Market. Brought to you by the creative forces behind Royal Croquet Club and Alpine Winter Village. Inspired by the street markets of Asia, Good Fortune Market will offer market stalls, music and live performances, authentic Asian cuisine and of course a groovy pop-up bar, open for 12 nights only.
Experience the authenticity and vibrancy of this year’s OzAsia Festival.
