9th May 2016
There are many excellent choices when it comes to exploring the Clare Valley cellar doors as it is home to more than 30 producers and some of the oldest wineries in the state. From stone cottages and old farm sheds to heritage and brand new state-of-the-art buildings, there is no limitation of where you will find these quality wine producers operating.
The Clare Valley has often been described as the heart of Australian Riesling, however, don’t despair if you prefer a glass of red wine as the Clare Valley is fast becoming known for its Shiraz and Cabernet too.
Spend the afternoon visiting a trail of cellar doors, sampling wines, experiencing the wine-making process and hearing how the wine was created from the winemakers themselves. Start at some of the better known wineries such as Jim Barry Wines, Pikes Wines, Sevenhill Cellars and Tim Adams Wines, before moving on to the more boutique wineries of the region.
Wine tasting is a must-do while you are visiting the Clare Valley. Sit back, relax and treat your taste buds with its signature wines.
