The Riverland is well known for its citrus fruits as it produces 95% of South Australia’s citrus production. The region is well known for its grapes, oranges, lemons, limes and almonds. All of these products can be found in local stores, roadside stalls and at the Riverland Farmers Market held in Berri every Saturday morning between 7:30am – 11:30am. The Riverland Farmers Market offers a variety of stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, nuts, organic lamb, capers, olive oil, lavender products, jams, pickles, relishes, dried fruit and mettwurst. You will also find that a large amount of local cafes and restaurants in the region will use local ingredients, often sourcing it directly from the producer.
