Located between Berri and Barmera, the Berri Estates Winer and Cellar Door is the largest single operating winery and distillery in Australia. Around 220,000 tonnes of grapes are crushed annually, which equates to around a third of South Australia’s entire crush.
They specialise in premium red and white table wines, brandy and fortified wines. The cellar door sells familiar brands including 919 Wines, Nottage Hills and Banrock Station. The cellar door is open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm, Saturday 10 am to 4 pm and closed on Sunday’s and Public Holidays.
Berri Look Out Tower
Take in the stunning view of Berri and the Murray River at the 15.8 metre lookout tower. The tower was formed by converting a disused town tower into a lookout.
Berri Ferry Landing
The historic Berri ferry landing served as the major riving crossing between the settlements of Loxton and Berri. In 1926 the Berri District Council agreed with C.A. Muller to purchase his punt and move up river closer to the Berri township. Over many years the ferry operated with passengers, vehicles, machinery, goods and livestock making the crossing, the quality of the ferry structure improving with time up until the Berri Bridge was constructed in 1997.
Monash Adventure Park
Located 5 minutes north of Berri at Monash, this family friendly playground, offers a great range of equipment for all ages. The park has attractions like a leaning tower, a Burmese rope bridge, a wave bridge, a maze, mini basketball, flying fox, a slippery dip and more. It also offers free electric barbecues and picnic facilities. The playground is open from 10 am to 5 pm daily.
