Okay Read MoreThe Iconic Pelican Man
13th April 2017
Author: Brooke Hendry, Fourth Hen Creative
John Ayliffe, also known as the Pelican Man, would undoubtedly be the most photographed individual in Kangaroo Island, and for good reason too! John will delight you with his witty and informative banter in this extraordinary 20-30 minute show. All while feeding the wild pelicans and other sea birds that flock to him (and around him and on top of him), which they all do, every evening, without fail.
John truly has a love for these sea birds and has been feeding them daily now for over 20 years. He receives no funding to help facilitate the feeding, all he asks for is a small donation from those attending ($5 per adult, $3 per child). This donation is put towards purchasing of the fish and to allow for the show to continue.
Make your way down to the picturesque wharf in Kingscote, Kangaroo Island, at 5pm on any day to experience this unique pre-dinner performance – suitable for any age.
You honestly haven’t experienced Kingscote if you don’t see the iconic Pelican Man.
