Maggie Beer is a self-taught cook, author and food producer, and is one of Australia’s most loved cooks. A must-do when visiting South Australia is a day trip to the Barossa Valley, and more specifically a visit to Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop in Nuriootpa where visitors can stock up on their favourite Maggie Beer products and watch daily cooking demonstrations. While you’re there, wander around the store and don’t be afraid to taste all of the products – its highly encouraged as its the only place in Australia where visitors have the chance to see and try just about every product Maggie Beer makes.
Upon your visit you might wander around the dam and get the feeling of the Barossa country side, or if you’re ready for a feed; a good tasty lunch, or just coffee and cake. It’s all simple country seasonal dishes.
Before you leave, pick up something tasty to take with you. Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop offers a range of pates, olive oil, preserves, vinegars, condiments and ice creams.
