Okay Read MoreMad March in Adelaide
15th December 2016
Each year the city of Adelaide comes alive with a number of events taking place during the weeks from mid-February to late-March. This time of year is commonly referred to as ‘Mad March’ in South Australia.
The diversity is astounding and ranges from travelling theatre shows performing to small groups in a beautiful garden setting, to loud and exciting car races through a city street circuit and an internationally recognised music, arts and dance festival.
If you’re into all things theatre, including comedy, cabaret, magic and dance, pay a visit to the Garden of Unearthly Delights or surrounding Fringe Festival venues.
Adelaide’s exhilarating Clipsal 500 returns for another roaring event in 2017! It all kicks off on the 2nd of March with a 4-day race program that will excite any V8 Supercar fan, showcasing superior motor racing, demonstrations and stunt shows.
The celebration of performing arts continues as the Adelaide Festival kicks off presenting world-class productions from around the globe. Writers’ Week is part of the Adelaide Festival and has been in existence for over 40 years, making it the oldest literary festival in Australia.
WOMADelaide is the four-day festival of Music, Arts and Dance presented annually in Adelaide’s Botanic Park as part of the Adelaide Festival. There are performances by artists from around the world on seven stages and street theatre throughout the park. Food stalls are plentiful and a children’s area has hands-on crafts and other activities.
There are plenty of opportunities to join in on the upcoming ‘Mad March’ celebrations and with SA Weekend Escapes you can stay close to all the action with accommodation in the heart of the Adelaide CBD.
