9th June 2016
Re-launching this year as a merger between Kangaroo Island’s Art Feast and FEASTival, the Kangaroo Island Art Feastival will take place over the October long weekend, 29th September – 3rd October 2016. The full program will also run over the first two months of spring, starting early on 1st September, giving you plenty of time to check out the great exhibitions!
Featuring a range of artists, venues and food and wine producers from across the island, the art feastival has also launched a new series of Shared Table events including poetry readings, drama performances, music, dance and visual displays. Bringing back the popular Youth Art Feast, the program will strongly feature major exhibitions created by the Island’s youth. Generally hosted at Kingscote Airport in the last week of the third school term, the exhibitions can range from live performances to visual art.
Celebrating its very own art, food and wine culture, Kangaroo Island Art Feastival involves around 30 venues, including galleries, cafes, shearing sheds and artists’ studios. With the collaborative efforts of almost 150 of the island’s artists, painters, photographers, digital, print, textile and installation artists, sculptors, musicians and writers, the events also includes some of the Island’s best chefs, wine makers, distillers and fermenters, ensure this is a feastival not to be missed!
