Not so quiet Port Pirie

2. Cirque Mother Africa
Cirque Mother Africa is an exciting spectacle that showcases the artistic excellence, colourful culture, and vibrancy of Africa. Featuring a talented cast from across the African continent, this family-friendly show blends breathtaking acrobatic feats, mesmerising contortionists, dance, and song, promising a thrilling experience that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats. To mark 15 successful years of touring the world, Cirque Mother Africa is delighted to return to Australia to share their high-energy performance with fans in Port Pirie!

3. Port Pirie Producers Market
The Port Pirie Producers Market is a popular local destination where residents and visitors can access an impressive range of fresh, locally grown produce. The market offers a diverse array of stalls selling a range of products, including honey, olive oil, fresh and dried fruits, vegetables, jams, sauces, relishes and chutneys, coffee, jewelry, wrought iron, biscuits, and cakes. To enjoy a relaxing morning, locals and tourists alike are welcome to head to Memorial Park and indulge in a coffee, breakfast, and fresh produce from the market.

4. Nunga Screen – Port Pirie
Nunga Screen showcases and honors the language, culture, and stories of First Nations through cinema. This free annual event takes place during National Reconciliation and NAIDOC Week and travels to various locations from big screen cinemas to remote communities throughout regional SA. Nunga Screen offers a diverse film program for all ages, inviting both emerging and established First Nations filmmakers to showcase their films. The 2023 program will showcase the premiere of a commissioned short documentary by an emerging First Nations filmmaker, providing an opportunity for connection and education.

5. Youth Event – Easter egg Challenge
Whilst many of theses events are for the adults, this one is for the children! On the 4th April, children can take part in a youth event for easter in Port Pirie. This fun event will see children taking part in a task whereby they must build something to stop their Easter eggs from breaking when dropped. For those aged 11 to 17, this event costs $2 per child and contributes to the materials used.
