1. Tasting Australia: A Feast of the Riverland
On the 30th of April 2022, Tasting Australia takes place in the beautiful Riverland region. Join world-renowned chefs Duncan Welgemoed and Mark Best for a riverside feast that you won’t forget. On the banks of the beautiful Murray, you and your loved one can graze on the most delicious local produce crafted by incredible chefs. Celebrate the food of the Riverland accompanied by complimentary beverages and outstanding local wines. If you’re not quite sure what the food of the Riverland tastes like, grab your tickets and plan your trip to the region around this iconic event.
From February 2022 to December 2022, you can enjoy Barmera Main Street Markets. Catering to the whole family, the markets involve everything from coffee to fruit, vegetables, condiments, plants, food and even furniture. From one week to the next, you’ll find different stallholders. Chat with vendors and listen to the hum of background music. You may even find singers, dancers and a petting zoo for the kids!
3. SA Carp Frenzy
On March 5th 20222, try something totally different and head to Lake Bonney Barmera for South Australia’s Carp Frenzy. Starting at 6am and ending at 3pm, the event sees the states biggest carp fishing competition. Lake Bonney is a great spot to take the kids too. There’s plenty of space here for taking tip and the grass area and picnic spaces are perfect for lunch. Throw in your line and try to catch a fish in order to win one of the prizes available on the day. No need to be professional! Everyone can have a go.
4. The World of Musicals in Renmark
On the 22nd of March 2022, why not plan a trip to the Riverland in order to watch a production? Whilst it might not be the most typical of things to enjoy in the Riverland, it will be a great deal of fun and certainly very unique! The World of Musicals brings the best of musical theatre to life. Classics and all your favourite music from Fiddler on the Roof, Mamma Mia, The Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, Wicked, Hairspray, Les Misérables – you name it – you’ll hear it here. Performed by an International star-studded cast, this will be a night not to forget!
5. SA Ol’ skool Ski Boat Run 2022
On February 19th 2022, plan a trip to the Riverland and embrace the 4th Annual Ol Skool Ski Boat Run & Show n Shine from Renmark SA to the Woolshed Brewery. Approximately 32km in length, ski boats cruise along the most amazing stretch of the Mighty Murray. Leaving Arthur Shepard Park in Renmark at 11am Saturday, participants will cruise to the Woolshed Brewery and enjoy lunch at one of the most picturesque spots on The Murray. Late afternoon in Renmark, dinner in the Big 4 Renmark Caravan Park is at 6:30pm alongside presentations of trophies. Make a weekend of it! On Sunday will be a casual fun ski day all welcome!
