The Winter Reds
If you are a lover of red wines then this is the event for you. Head to the Adelaide Hills on the 23rd-25th July and enjoy a full itinerary of events at many of the 30 Vineyards, including music, art, wonderful food and of course plenty of wine tasting. Appreciate the beauty of the Adelaide Hills at this time of year where the recent rains have turned everything green and lush. Check out the itinerary before you go so that you can plan which events you want to take part in. Take some friends and lap up the wonderful atmosphere while tasting many superb wines from around the region and listening to a vast array of music styles.
Vegan Palooza
This is an event for the compassionate foodies amongst us. Created by the Vegan Festival Adelaide, it takes place at the end of October each year, providing a get together for the ever-growing numbers of vegans and those just generally into their food. The festival firstly teaches more about vegan food and secondly celebrates veganism by bringing together Adelaidians to taste and experience the amazing local vegan food and drink.
The Royal Adelaide Show
This is an annual agricultural event held in late August/early September which will provide entertainment for the whole family. Enjoy seeing all types of animals up close, followed by some shopping time in the many exhibition pavilions. When it’s time for lunch pop along to the food stalls for a great choice of meals that are on offer. Take the kids along to the carnival attractions and rides for some thrill seeking, then finish off the day with a spectacular firework display
Potted Potter
If you are a massive fan of the Harry Potter Books then this event is designed just for you. The Unauthorised Harry Experience is a parody which takes on the ultimate challenge of all seven books in seventy minutes providing you with hilarious entertainment and laughs right rom the start. For any age it’s blissfully funny and a huge crowd pleaser.
Sala Festival
Held in August every year, the Sala Festival is a celebration of South Australian visual artists. In hundreds of venues throughout South Australia including cafes, galleries, hairdressers and even pubs, thousands of artists display their work for all to see. The diverse range of art means that there is something for everyone to appreciate including paintings, ceramics, textiles and photography to name but a few. The festival is a fantastic event for emerging artists to show their work in the city centre and far beyond into the Barossa valley, Clare Valley, Riverland and the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Illuminate Adelaide
Celebrating innovation, technology, music, light and art, Illuminate Adelaide is an amazing new annual show that will take place from the 16th August-1st September 2021. Local and international artists and companies come together to provide this absolute spectacle which can be found around the laneways, city streets and the beautiful architecture which is lit up for all to be amazed. It really is an event that you wont forget in a hurry.
Cellar Door Fest Winter Edit
Cellar Door Fest is a two day event held at the Adelaide Convention Centre for festival goers to experience the state’s hottest wines, food and spirits all under one roof. It is a smaller boutique style event which brings that lively wintery vibe to the centre of Adelaide with its musicians playing anything from folk to disco and soul or indie music. It takes place on the 9th and 10th July this year (2021) and its highly anticipated return means that you will need to book one of the sessions in advance to experience this great Adelaide winter warmer!
